Recreation Responsibilities
Orono Parks and Recreation offers its citizens and surrounding communities a variety of options for recreational opportunities.

One of the best recreational opportunities for residents and visitors exists with the vast trail system that is available for hiking, walking, jogging and enjoying nature's wildlife. View Orono Land Trust Information and Maps.

Year-round recreational activities take place through a variety of youth and adult programs and sports.

Recreation Activities
During the summer, Concerts at The Village Green become a family event for all to enjoy from July through August. Nadeau-Savoy Park at Gould's Landing (Outer Essex Street) on Pushaw Lake provides the public with access to lake front activities to enjoy swimming, boating and picnicking. The outdoor municipal pool also provides area children and their parents with an opportunity to enjoy summer fun.

The Department is also involved in providing the community with a chance to continue its theatrical skills through the activities of the Orono Community Theater and their many performances. The Keith Anderson Community House hosts the performances plus a wide variety of programs and activities throughout the year for all ages.

No matter what season, something is always happening at Orono Parks and Recreation!
